When renowned beauty writer Sali Hughes released her first book Pretty Honest, is was a sure success. The Guardian columnist is one of the most well respected beauty journalist in the industry, the woman knows her stuff. This type of book is my favourite, the kind you can just pick up from time to time and read any particular chapter, or refer to when looking for a new product. It’s a beauty arsenal of any advice you’ll ever need from managing your skin type to bingo wings. It is a little pricey but it really is a great read.

I have struggled with chapped lips since I can remember. I always took care of them by applying lip balm and even exfoliating but my attempts were always in vain, once the cold weather hit they would become dry, chapped and even sore. A friend of mine told me about Dr. Lipp’s Nipple balm for lips a few months ago and it hasn’t left my handbag since. Originally designed as a soothing balm for breastfeeding mothers (hence the name), the nourishing and hydrating balm has become a cult product for healing chapped lips almost instantly.
