Most Exciting New Beauty Products in Dublin
I love new beauty products and as a beauty blogger and makeup artist it is, of course, my job to get really excited about them, sure it’s hard work, but someone has to do it! Every season new beauty products are sent from the cosmetic universe and land on the beauty counters – to give you an overview of what’s hot this year, I have compiled a list of the newest, most innovative beauty products hitting Irish shores this year.
After the success of the They’re Real mascara, Benefit came up with a new product, the They’re Real Push-Up Liner, the first-ever lash-hugging gel liner pen. The idea is pure genius, revolutionary even, as there is nothing similar on the market. It’s basically a pen that you twist at the bottom to dispense the product through a flat tip applicator. Instructions on how to apply the liner are also included, so if you love that cat-eye–look, but can’t get your line straight, this newbie might be just the thing for you! There is no moving this liner, once applied it’s set in stone and it lasts and lasts…and for your convenience Benefit has also developed the They’re Real Makeup Remover which takes off the liner effortlessly. Both products are already available in Dublin Department stores.
Heavy-mask foundations are a thing of the past. Yves Saint Laurent is the master of cosmetic innovations and his newest foundation Le Encre de Peau, promoted by none other than the in-vogue model and brow wonder Cara Delevingne, is already reaching cult potential. She has already convinced over 12,000 women to join a waiting list to buy the revolutionary foundation which was inspired by NASA scientists. The foundation is feather-light, sweat proof and has a natural satin finish which will last throughout the day. The foundation comes in 12 shades and suits all skin types from oil to dry. This miracle foundation will be available from the 20thAugust in Irish Department stores priced at 45 Euro.
Christian Louboutin, the lord of the red soles, launches his first nail polish collection, the Rouge Louboutin. After two years in the making the nail polish collection is finally available at Brown Thomas. The collection includesthe iconic “Rouge Louboutin”a vibrant red suited to every skin tone as well as 30 other shades which are divided into three colour families: “The Noirs ‘- ten very dark tones,” The Nudes “- based on the different skin tones and” The Pops ” -bright and bold colours. You can already bag the “Rouge Louboutin”, the other shades will be available from 1st September at Brown Thomas. So if you don’t have 1000 Euro to spare for the Louboutin heel, the Rouge Louboutin is much cheaper… well, maybe not that cheap: The exquisite nail polish costs a whopping 45 Euro, making it possibly the most expensive nail polish on the market.
Last but not least, the most exciting beauty news of 2014 was probably the launch of the Charlotte Tilbury Cosmetic counter in Brown Thomas this August. If you don’t know who Charlotte is – she is an international make-up artist, famous for her bespoke cat eye and launched her first cosmetic line in September 2013 in Selfridges in London. Charlotte’s cosmetic creation is based on 10 looks and it’s up to the client to decide which “personality look” best reflects their style. For example, if you are a Rebel (like Kate Moss), a Sophisticate (more Ciara Knightley), a Rock Chick (Alexa Chung comes to my mind) or a Bombshell (definitely Victoria Secret Angels), then the idea is to go for the matching eye, lip and cheek palettes in the 10-look range which you also can mix and match – whatever takes your fancy! The packaging in rosé gold echos classic Hollywood elegance and has luxury written all over it – great to glam up your dressing table! My favourite from Charlotte is Filmstar Bronze & Glow and I have to say that this is the highlighter and bronzer I’ve been looking for all my life. The Charlotte Tilbury collection will be available from 26th August at Brown Thomas.
