147 Deli, Parnell Street

The DublinTown team was welcoming back a member from long holidays yesterday, and decided to ease the holiday blues and take a long overdue team lunch to 147 Deli. The northside of Dublin city is a mecca for gorgeous, inexpensive food, exactly what we got in 147 Deli.

The advantages of having everyone at lunch together was that we got to try lots of things on the menu! While our sandwiches were being prepared freshly, we tucked ourselves away in the corner and chilled out in the energetic and busy lunchtime atmosphere. The interior rocked a ‘modern funky’ meets ‘metro city’ vibe. There is a giant black, white and yellow map of Dublin on the wall, colourful high stools and a comfortable space  where you can sink into the cushions.

Now on to the best part… the food. The sambo special of the day which was home smoked turkey, bacon, red cabbage, pear & Madeira braised cranberry slaw, brie cheese with a chive mayo- yes, the name was a moutful, but believe me it was the most delicious mouthful possible.

The 147 club sounded so good and tasted even better than imagined! Chargrilled chicken, smoked bacon, butterhead lettuce, beef tomato, onion & chipotle mayo all topped an onion bap. This was seriously good mood food!
